Objectives and activities of the organization:

Public university, multidisciplinary, 32000 students (3000 foreign students) studying at 11 faculties. Educational programs provided at the following levels: Bachelor, Master, Doctorate (2600 PhD students, 24% foreign PhD students). Numerous research centers and institutes (2500 researchers). Strong international academic and scientific activity including mobility of students, teachers, and researchers. Tempus, Tempus Mundus, Erasmus, Alfa programs, 4 international Master programs.

Experience and expertise (25 years) in the organization of on-line educational programs within Open University Netherlands (6 Flemish universities) and the Institute of Continuing Education. Training aims at students willing to get higher education and professional diplomas in continuing education. Each faculty has established an organization which develops an educational system, having many on-line modules.

 

Role of the organization in the project:

  • Ghent University:
    • will be member of the functional structure, established by the project (CPP, CSP, Com. Prospective),
    • will participate in summary meetings, Com. Prospective (introduction of e-learning in training), initial and final distribution, colloquium,
    • will deliver an expert in Educational Sciences (external quality audit).
  • Open University and the Institute of Continuing Education will present their EL activities in Moldova (information meetings) and will receive, for detailed visits, the exploration missions of education responsible from Moldova.
  • Faculties of Economics and Business Administration, Applied Sciences, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine will be part of Moldova-EU mixed working groups, will help develop the EL content, and will offer guidance to teachers and students on how to use it.
