This Tempus project aims at the modernization of Moldovan Higher Education by renovating the teaching methods by use of e-learning. This is a political will of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (national policy of access to multimedia) and partner universities. The lack of experience in this area has delayed the implementation of these distance learning activities, hence the request for the creation of Moldovan coordination teams for this project. This form of teaching can be as necessary as today's economic situation requires a growing number of students to undertake paid employment during their studies. Thus the number of employed students reached 57%. The low availability of these students to attend courses results in significant absenteeism. In addition, universities has recorded a decline in enrollment attributed to the lack of attractiveness of the university (duration of studies, attendance constraints) and the requirement to find work. This project involves nine universities from Moldova (MD) training 85% of students across the country and seven universities from the European Union (EU) (Belgium, Spain, France, Italy and Romania) with solid e-learning experience in different areas. |
